This almost never happens in college, at least these days. Last night, Jodie Meeks scored 54 points for Kentucky, despite the demoralizing effect of the team’s uniforms. Meeks in no stranger to huge games as he’s the NCAA’s fourth leading scorer so far this year and already dropped 46 points on App State this season. But 54 points is significant not just because it’s a huge huge number, especially for college, but because it breaks the Kentucky school record set by Dan Issel in 1970. It was also the highest scoring output in an SEC game since Chris Jackson (aka, Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf) scored 55 for LSU in 1989.
